The government of Malaysia has set up the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) to encourage medical tourists. The MHTC, in partnership with the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia, offers high quality bariatric surgery and weight loss treatments to international visitors at affordable prices. Indeed, Malaysian law dictates that visitors from abroad must be offered obesity treatment at the same prices enjoyed by the local population.
