An IVF-SPAIN patient’s story about their wish come trueCarola May has been a mother of two children since August and now she’s pregnant again. Nico (7), came to the world in a very natural way, Paul (2) was conceived through oocyte and sperm donation in IVF-Spain in Alicante, place where her actually pregnancy has been worked out. Below is an interview with Carola May. Which problems appeared after your first child’s birth?Health problems did not occur in my case. I’m a single mother. I had a desire for another child but I did not have an appropriate partner. In the absence of a partner, I couldn’t even try to become pregnant. This time for me was frustrating and sad. I did not want to resign myself to having just one child. I came to IVF-Spain in February 2010. I had decided in late 2009, and after much research it was a quick decision. My desire for more children did not decrease with age. Doctors told me that because of my “old age” I just had a chance of a 0.3% to become pregnant, although my gynecologist told me my hormonal values were very high for a 40 years old woman. With my age, it was very difficult to realize fertility treatment, therefore I started to research on the internet and try contact to different countries and their methods, successes and statutory requirements. What was your first impression of IVF Spain AlicanteThe very first phone contact was very friendly. The Taxi service and assistance in finding a stay was also enthusiastic. At consultation, they took time enough to explain everything to me. From the first moment, I felt very comfortable at the clinic, and the doctors, as well as the techniques they would be using. An extra surprise is that Alicante is really a beautiful city with a wonderful climate. What did you feel when you were told the IVF treatment was successful?I could hardly believe that the first attempt would work out. I went through a large happiness and it lasted during the whole pregnancy. It was a mixture of deepest bliss and gratitude. The most important thing is that Spain with its very liberal legislation is blessed, in my eye, as a leader in fertility treatments. I came here with high hopes, and these were even exceeded. For me, personally, IVF treatment had brought happiness into my life, what, otherwise, would have remained empty. |
