Medical tourism is growing in popularity, with many patients seeking to avoid waiting lists or expensive treatment in their own countries.
According to a report in Business Today Egypt, as many as one in ten EU patients are considering treatment abroad and Egypt is one of the many nations hoping to make the most of the trend.
Dr Osama El-Shahawy, a founder of the Esthetica Maxillofacial and Dental Hospital, commented: "This is part of our dream.
"It's well-known that the prices of treatment here are much less than in Europe, the States and even the Gulf area," he claimed.
"At the same time, we're giving [patients] a quality service."
Medical tourists opting to travel to Egypt can enjoy a range of cultural and ancient historical sites while they recuperate.
However, according to Dr El-Shahawy, the nation also has state-of-the-art equipment and materials as well as experienced doctors, and the expert predicts that the nation's medical tourism industry will boom within the next three years.
