The quality of dental treatment in Poland is likely to exceed that found in the UK, a company has claimed.
According to Bart Prokopowicz, a spokesman for Dental Travel Poland, dentists in Poland are required to undergo a "very demanding" education programme and Britons travelling to the country for treatment will find themselves in safe hands.
"I can assure you that if you take an average dentist from the UK and from Poland, a Polish one is better skilled and trained," he claimed.
According to Mr Prokopowicz, Poland's dentists are among the best in the world.
"I believe this is due to the fact that education in that field in Poland is very demanding," he explained.
Despite the high level of quality found in Poland, prices are remarkably low. For example, the cost of dental implants commonly starts at around £1,800 in the UK, compared to just £500 for the same implants in Poland.
The spokesman also revealed that, although some of their clients are medical tourists, the majority are simply seeking treatment abroad.
The vast majority - around 70 per cent - visit the country only for a short period in order to receive intensive work as quickly as possible, while a further 20 per cent tend to combine dental treatment with business trips to Warsaw.
From Mr Prokopowicz's experience, only a tenth of the company's clients combine treatment with sightseeing, and these tend to be of retirement age rather than businesspeople.
