The Republic of Lithuania is located at the Eastern coast of the Baltic Sea and shares borders with Latvia to the north, Belarus to the southeast, Poland, and Russia to the southwest. Vilnius, Lithuania's capital, is the largest and one of the oldest cities of the country. It is a multinational, multilingual, and multicultural city with a population of over 550,000.

Low cost surgery is accessible via airlines such as Air Baltic, Ryanair and FlyLal that provide cheap and nonstop flights to Vilnius or Kaunas. Flights take two and a half hours from London and approximately three hours from Dublin.
