Expatriate Health Management Conference 2012

28-Nov-2011

Today, multinational employers, the expatriates that work for them, and the organizations that provide them with healthcare services, continue to face many challenges. Health risks are increasing around the world. Expatriates are required to be ever more flexible. There is continuing pressure to optimize budgets. Managing healthcare in an unsafe world is a constant challenge. And the destabilization of financial markets continues to threaten long-term planning, and the goals and expectations of the healthcare market.

With the support of the Global Benefits Group (US, California) and the medassistance company almeda (part of Munich Re), Health Care Strategy Int. in Munich launches the first congress dedicated to the expatriate health management market.

Dr Uwe Klein, CEO of Health Care Strategy Intl. and Chairman of the EHMCon (Expatriate Health Management Conference 2012) says: “Our call for action is directed towards everyone involved in the international expatriate healthcare market for which we aim to create the first focused platform. The conference will enable better networking in the industry with the goal of developing optimized expatriate healthcare solutions fit for the future.”

The first Expatriate Health Management Conference, EHMCon 2012, will be held from 20-22 June 2012 in Old Windsor, just outside London. More than 250 delegrates including HR and medical directors from international corporations, insurers, providers of health and medical services, MGU/MGA’s, brokers, and consultants will have the chance to the two-day event to focus on the global expatriate health management industry. Many innovative initiatives are expected to come from this meeting.

EHMCon 2012 is designed to facilitate discussions on topics such as the appropriate level of healthcare benefits for expats, the relationship between wellness programs and healthcare costs, surging mental health problems at work (stress and burnout among expatriates), legal compliance issues in key regions, safety and security in an increasingly unsafe world, as well as achieving intercultural awareness and helping the expatriate to get settled quickly and effectively.

As healthcare management is not only about the prevention of disease and curing illnesses, but increasingly about improving the quality of life for expats as well as optimizing an individual`s performance in the workplace. Employee benefits solutions become more and more a competitive factor for appointing the best employees. The educational lectures and the trade show are brought together at the conference to help the players to optimize their benefits.
