Medical tourist registrations confirm interest in meeting exhibitors

The organisers of Destination Health, the forthcoming Health & Medical Tourism Show have reported an unprecedented level of interest from UK patients planning to travel abroad for treatment. With just over four months to go, the organisers have already received a significant number of advance registrations from medical tourists keen to attend the exhibition on 17th & 18th April 2010 at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London.

Commenting on the visitor registrations, Event Director, Nav Mann said “Although our visitor marketing programme is not scheduled until January 2010, we are delighted with the level of interest from UK patients which confirms UK demand for medical treatment abroad”

Analysis of visitor registrations has revealed the type of treatment providers patients are actively seeking to meet at Destination Health. Over 66% are looking for dental treatment, followed by 43% for cosmetic surgery and 27% for fertility treatment. There is also significant interest in medical spas with over 22% of the visitors keen to learn more about this type of treatment for skin conditions and arthritis. Over 34% are looking to make contact with hospitals and clinics specializing in a range of general treatments.

When asked why they want to attend the event an overwhelming number (88%) indicated they wanted to meet providers face to face before making any commitment to travel for treatment.

Mr R Mill from London, who recently registered “When I heard about this exhibition, I jumped at the chance to register for my free entry. For a few months I’ve been thinking about traveling abroad for dental treatment and having done some research on the internet it’s frustrating not being able to meet the people who might operate on me. Destination Health is a godsend as it gives me the opportunity to meet the clinics and see first hand what they have to offer”.
