Brokered by Taiwan External Trade Development Council, World Federation of Chinese Traders Alumni (WFCTA) and Pacific Rim Medical Overseas Consortium (PRMOC) officially signed an agreement to collaborate offering international medical service. It is a significant move to have built this facilitating platform for Taiwan’s medical travel. This milestone will help Taiwan’s medical tourism extends its market on six continents, including North America, Asia, Oceania, Europe, Africa and Central/South America.
According to the agreement, “We’re willing to offer overseas Chinese businessmen and foreigners upscale health care services in order to participate in the global health care system. And we’re also willing to cooperate with worldwide Chinese founded medical institutions and medical schools”.
The CEO of PRMOC, Doc., You Zhi-Yi, emphasized, “Taiwan’s medical service should aim on American market. On March, Taiwan External Trade Development Council brought many Taiwanese hospitals to Los Angeles, San Francisco and other major cities of the west coast to promote medical service.” PRMOC also participated in the marketing activities, and successfully promoted Taiwan’s international medical service.
Commissioned by Taiwan’s department of health, in the past three years, Taiwan’s Task Force for Medical Travel (TTFMT) have been actively assisted domestic hospitals to cooperate with overseas medical facilitators. According to the vice CEO of TTFMT, Wang Jian-Quan, at the current stage, the most effective marketing strategies is using critical care, health check-up service and cosmetic medical service as attractors to aim on overseas Chinese and foreign communities.
