Vietnam's first medical tourism resort has now opened in the southern seaside town of Vung Tau.
Medicoast opened on February 11th and is now offering full travel packages, combining professional healthcare services with tourism.
"Offering services from medical treatments to spa therapies, including its very own recreational and travel tours, Medicoast is suited to locals and overseas travellers wanting that extra quality care," the resort's website claims.
The hospital offers emergency services, paediatrics, obstetrics, eye surgery, orthopaedics, nutrition advice and general surgery, and caters for both domestic and foreign tourists.
In addition, experienced professionals will be on hand to provide preventative dental care and cosmetic dentistry.
According to reports, the resort is believed to have cost around $5 million and consists of two main buildings, one dedicated to healthcare and the other providing residential accommodation, a 300-seat restaurant and sporting and leisure facilities.
The resort is located just minutes from the beach, town and shopping centres, and activities such as golf and surfing are available for visitors, who will also be able to take eco-tours around the surrounding area.
