The International Forum For Health Tourism 9th Edition

Romania was discussed a potential medical tourism destination that can deliver excellence in health services at the International Forum for Health Tourism Conference yesterday.

The conference, held in Bucharest, covered all aspects of health and medical tourism.

During Maria Georga's presentation, the Regional Manager and Medical Travel Specialist from Intuition Communication told delegates that "a competitive Romania can deliver excellence in health services".

Ms Maria Georga presented the topic “Romanian health tourism destination through the eyes of a foreign expert” where she highlighted Romania’s strengths and expertise as well as discussing their medical facilities, hot springs and competitive pricing. She also discussed Romania’s need to adapt to international languages in the health and medical tourism sectors, the poor promotion of Romania as a health travel destination and the importance of an integrated National Health tourism Plan.

Intuition Communication is responsible for websites such as IMTJ and Treatment Abroad, and has made a contribution to this event every year.

The conference was organised by the Amfiteatru Foundation in partnership with the National Authority of Quality Management, took place in Bucharest, Romania from November 15-17th 2016.

A significant number of distinguished international specialists were invited to share their expert knowledge of the international healthcare sector with local authorities and providers. These professionals were from a variety of backgrounds including; Spa and Hospital executives, International Facilitators and Cluster representatives.

The other attendees at the event were delegates from several national and private units including: The National Authority for Tourism, The Romanian Association of Balneology; The Romanian Association of Medical Tourism, Romanian Organization of Spas’ Owners, The National Authority for Quality Management in Health, Private Hospitals, rehabilitation, dental clinics and medical travel office representatives.
