I explored Dental Tourism online after receiving costly estimates in the UK, even considering European dental specialists flying in for treatment. Ivan Habijanec contacted me at home, and we had a lengthy discussion regarding available treatments. We scheduled a date for me to visit for X-Rays, further discussions, and a quotation. I travelled to Rovinj in January for X-Rays, confirmed the treatment plan and cost, and treatment commenced immediately. Ivan extracted my remaining top teeth, performed a bone graft on my gums, and implanted teeth simultaneously. I stayed the rest of the week for monitoring and stitch removal. An additional 3-day stay resulted in a perfectly fitting temporary denture while waiting for the bone graft to heal. In May 2014, I returned for the final fitting of proper implants, removal of a lower tooth, and the placement of a 12-tooth bridge. A week later, the top bridge was meticulously fitted. Throughout the process, Ivan and his father, Zeljko, were extremely professional and understanding, catering to my fear of dentistry. The treatment was surprisingly painless, and their care was exceptional. Rovinj is a charming town worth visiting regardless of dental reasons. Ivan suggested finding a local dentist to check the bridges regularly for gum health. I plan to return to Rovinj next year, trusting Ivan with my dental care and eager to reconnect with the friends I made during my stay.
