Helvetic Clinics Budapest – dental clinic in Hungary for international patients
Helvetic Clinics is a dental clinic at 12 Revay utca in the 6th district of Budapest, 200 metres from St Stephen’s Basilica. It treats 7,000 patients a year from 32 countries and is open from 7am to 9pm.
The clinic, its own dental laboratory and the 12 Revay Hotel share the same building. Patients come down for treatment and go back up to rest, which is what allows most treatment plans to be completed in five to seven days.
Twenty dentists, one specialty each
Helvetic Clinics has 20 dentists, all trained at Semmelweis University in Budapest, each practising in a single field: the implantologist does not treat decay, the endodontist does not place veneers. Cases spanning several disciplines are reviewed in a coordination meeting between specialists.
The clinic’s implantologists have placed more than 25,000 implants over their careers. Every placement is planned on Cone Beam 3D imaging, and every implant comes with an implant passport recording brand, exact reference and serial number, so any dentist anywhere can work on it years later.
“In oral surgery the difference is not made in the chair but in everything around it: 3D imaging before every placement, coordination between specialists, traceability of every implant.” – Dr Gabor Berkei, oral surgeon.

Nervous patients
Around 15% of patients have significant dental anxiety. Helvetic Clinics offers graded protocols: oral premedication, intravenous conscious sedation, or general anaesthesia, which also allows many procedures to be grouped into a single session.
A dental laboratory inside the building
Around 90% of Hungarian dental clinics outsource their laboratory work, sometimes abroad. At Helvetic Clinics the technicians work in the same building: the ceramist can come chairside to check a shade, and an adjustment can be made the same day rather than over a week of back and forth.
The laboratory covers the whole prosthetic chain, from CAD/CAM design to ceramic layering, working from the dentists’ own digital impressions. Materials include E.max from Ivoclar Vivadent, zirconia and GC ceramics, each traceable under ISO 9001.
Equipment and sterilisation
Diagnosis relies on Cone Beam 3D imaging and Planmeca radiography. Treatment uses KaVo chairs, a Prima DNT Labomed operating microscope for endodontics and an Arcus Digma II for occlusal analysis. A quality committee meets in Switzerland every 18 months to assess equipment and materials.
Sterilisation follows a dedicated circuit with class B steam autoclaves to EN 13060, sealed packaging and full traceability: any instrument used on a patient can be linked back to its cycle.
Certification, ranking and reviews
Helvetic Clinics is certified to ISO 9001:2015, renewed in 2024 and audited annually by an independent body. Global Clinic Rating, which lists more than 130,000 clinics worldwide, has ranked it the number one dental clinic in Hungary since 2014. The clinic is accredited under the Treatment Abroad Code of Practice and received its Patients’ Choice award in 2017.
The clinic has more than 3,500 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5, alongside its Trustpilot reviews, and its model was covered by Le Figaro in September 2025.
What treatment costs compared with the UK
Prices are fixed and confirmed before treatment begins. As of August 2026: Neodent Helix GM implant €690, Helix GM Acqua €890, Straumann AnyRidge Premium €1,290, abutment and healing screw included. Metal-ceramic crown €310, monolithic zirconia crown €430, layered zirconia or E.max Ivoclar crown €560. Panoramic X-ray €55, CBCT scan €165. Full price list on request.
Compared with UK private dentistry, treatment in Budapest costs 50 to 70% less. The difference comes from Hungarian operating costs and from making the restorations in-house, not from cheaper materials: the implant systems and ceramics are the same as those used in the UK.
Guarantees and aftercare once you are back in the UK
Helvetic Clinics guarantees dental implants for life. Crowns, bridges, veneers and inlays and onlays are guaranteed for 5 years, partial dentures and overdentures for 3 years, full dentures for 1 year.
These guarantees are contractual. If a covered complication occurs, the clinic covers the remedial treatment, reimburses the return flight up to €180 and arranges accommodation for that stay. Your coordinator remains your single point of contact once you are home.
The guarantee assumes good oral hygiene, an annual check-up and scale and polish, and that the dentist’s instructions are followed. It does not cover problems that were neither visible on the X-rays nor foreseeable at the time of treatment. Full conditions are set out in the clinic’s written guarantee.
Seeing the clinic before you travel
A 3D virtual tour lets you walk through the treatment rooms, the laboratory and the reception from home. Send a panoramic X-ray and a coordinator returns a costed estimate within 48 hours, free and without obligation. That estimate is not a quotation: the definitive plan is set in Budapest after a full examination on the first day, when the consultation and digital X-ray are free. Nothing starts until you have approved every line.
Budapest Ferenc Liszt Airport is 16 km away, around 35 minutes, and a transfer is arranged on arrival. Sessions are deliberately limited to about two hours, with a maximum of one surgical procedure per day.
