Dental crowns and dental implants in Bucharest

Treatment: Crown - Full porcelain - zirconium (e.g. PROCERA or LAVA)
Provider: Bucharest British Dental Place
Date: May 2017

June from Cannes, France was in need of some general dental repair and maintenance work, but wanted to keep the look of her natural teeth. She was delighted with the treatment that she received at Bucharest British Dental Place in Romania.

"I was in need of some general dental repair and maintenance work as recently I had been neglecting my teeth using excuses of lack of time and money. I also had some discolouration of my teeth as well as several old crowns and fillings of dubious quality. But my main reason was to regain full use of my mouth as for nearly 20 years I have been missing 3 lower molars meaning I couldn't chew food properly! On top of that I wanted to stop the deterioration in the appearance of my smile. I am known for my big smile, it is part of my persona and I was no longer proud of it. Cosmin is extremely professional in his approach to work and the manner in which he undertakes all the treatments. He took a great deal of time examining my teeth, putting me at ease and discussing my options. To achieve the finished look I wanted I needed to have 8 fillings replaced, 3 root canal treatments, 6 Emax crowns and 3 Bredent implants. I chose to have my teeth laser whitened but opted to have no veneers as I wanted to keep the look of my natural teeth. The work was started on my first day and in total 6 consecutive days sometimes with 2 sessions morning and afternoon. Quite intense at times but Cosmin was painstakingly patient and meticulous in his attention to detail, always ensuring I was comfortable and in no pain or distress. Everything was explained fully to me. Cosmin takes enormous pride in the aesthetic finish of his work, shaping and colour matching until it is just perfect. There were also two junior dentists in attendance acting as assistants and with Cosmin’s training and questions to them I found it interesting and informative plus it helped to distract me from thinking too much about the work going on in my mouth ! The surgery required for putting in the implants was undertaken in the chair under sterile conditions. I was worried and nervous but felt very safe after meeting and talking to the dental surgeon Dan. In fact the thought of the procedure was far worse than the reality and much faster than I had imagined. Samantha was great as well making sure I was happy with my overall visit and finding my way about, booking taxis and offering cups of tea and friendly support. I have had the implants in place now for 2 months as well as 4 temporary crowns. I suffered no major discomfort, bruising or swelling and have had no problems or concerns with the quality of the work. I will be returning in another couple of weeks to complete the treatment. I responded to an ad placed on a expat community website here in South of France where I live. I had been thinking for many years of having this dental work done and the timing was right. I spoke to Samantha initially and then undertook to research into other clinics, other countries and decided to go ahead with my treatment at Bucharest British Dental Place based on price, accessibility and the reassurance of speaking English with Samantha and confidence in her husband Cosmin based on reviews of his work and experience. I was welcomed at the airport by Samantha and we were driven in style to my accommodation. Samantha was very attentive making sure I settled in ok and left me with a local mobile phone for me to use during my visit. The following morning she accompanied me to the clinic for my first meeting and assessment with Cosmin. The clinic is very clean, modern and light with all the latest equipment to hand. Cosmin is a stickler for detail and getting things just right taking a lot of time to explain what he could do and listening attentively to what I wanted to achieve which is so reassuring. On my return to France where I live Samantha has followed up with emails and text messages to check that all is ok. There has been nothing negative about my experience and in fact I am looking forward to my return to complete the work and getting my smile back! Even with the flights and accommodation costed in for the two visits the work is still much cheaper than undertaking same in France or in UK. One important thing to mention and something that really mattered to me is the time taken to complete the work. I was very discouraged by the thought of long drawn out procedures over several months with all the added inconvenience and dread. To achieve it all in the course of one full week with a follow up week for completion is worth a lot to me. It has also been a real pleasure to discover Bucharest, a lovely city and very friendly people."
