From the moment I stepped off the plane in Wroclaw and was met by the clinic’s friendly taxi driver, I felt safe and well cared for. I was taken to the clinic in their taxi and met at reception by the lovely staff who called me by name, making me feel immediately at home. I sat down in reception for a few minutes before Adam called me into his office. Dr. Adam Kalecinski was very honest and friendly. He was totally upfront about what he could and couldn’t achieve, and it was clear that he takes his job very seriously and wants only the best results for his patients. After my consultation, I was shown to the front reception desk, filled in some paperwork, and paid my money in cash before being asked to put on some booties to cover my shoes and being shown through to the nurse’s office where I had blood taken as routine. I was then shown to my room and asked to take a shower and get changed before I was able to touch anything in the room. Once I had done this, Adam came in and explained in more detail what and when he was going to do, answered all my questions in full, then he drew on me and took a few photos. At the appointed time, a nurse came through to show me into the theatre. The staff were all very friendly, and although they don’t speak much English, they speak enough to put you totally at ease. My last memory was of Adam coming into the theatre, smiling at me and telling me it would be OK, and then the next thing I knew, I was waking up back in my room. Adam checked in on me a few times, but I was out of it. Throughout the night, the nurses came and went, gave me all sorts of pain meds, anti-sickness, and antibiotics to make me feel comfortable. The following morning, they brought me some ham, cheese, bread, and a cup of tea for breakfast, and Adam came in and checked me over before allowing me to go back to my apartment. Every day, I went back to the clinic to have my wounds checked and my drains changed. The staff were always very courteous and friendly, and on day 5, Adam saw me again, and my drains were removed painlessly and quickly (I didn’t even notice as I was busy gossiping with Adam). On the whole, my experience with Adam was that he is a top-class surgeon. I searched high and low for a decent surgeon, and I couldn’t have found a better one! The clinic was the cleanest I have ever seen. Lots of people are concerned about travelling abroad and having surgery, but I can’t recommend Adam Kalecinski highly enough. Even the aftercare was superb. I had a few queries post-surgery and was offered quick responses from both David and Bridget, the UK Admin team, and the clinic itself, and was even given the option to return to Poland for free follow-up treatment. I was so impressed that I am returning in the New Year for further surgery and am hoping to return a few months after that for dental work. I’d never go anywhere else having seen the high level of work that Adam conducts and the cleanliness of his clinic and professionalism of his staff.
