There are not enough words to describe my wonderful treatment in Thailand. Every step of the way, there was an English-speaking carer with me, explaining things and taking me to all pre-op appointments. Everywhere I went outside the hospital (airport, hotel, etc.), I was collected in a brand-new air-conditioned van and treated like a queen. The hospital is exceptionally clean (cleaner than Oz) and has all modern care facilities. The dentist I saw there was such a nice guy. Professional, painless but, most importantly, gave me the most ‘updated new methods worldwide.’ They certainly keep ahead of the game, never behind. The surgeon was absolutely wonderful, encouraged questions, and really took a great deal of time planning with me. He also used the newest methods of the past five years to create a stunning outcome. (Many doctors, including Australia, are stuck in old methods, e.g. I will have almost no visible scarring, and I have retained all sensation.) A very clever man; I asked, ‘Does he realize he has given me a new life?’ All aftercare was clear – what to do, when, and they are PERSONALLY interested in the long-term outcome, asking for photos, etc. Wherever I went, whether hospital, city or airport, I felt totally safe and looked after in the hospital’s own transport. Price obviously has a great deal to do with going overseas. And it’s all true. I have paid at least one third of Australia’s prices (or less). I would not have been able to do it at home. But I truly received double the care and service, which helped me recover very fast. I shall remain in awe and appreciation for the rest of my life. And if my family and I ever have any large medical need in the future, we will definitely go back to Thailand.
