Review of Revitalize In Turkey by LG. Treatment date: over 12 months
I traveled with my partner to Izmir in January 2013. Having visited the city many times before, I was aware of the city’s reputation for clinical excellence. We were met at the airport by our driver, who is a kind, caring gentleman in the true sense of the word – nothing is too much trouble for him. I received the info pack outlining the schedule for the consultation and operation and shortly after received a call from Turan. We arrived at the villa rather late but were welcomed warmly and given something to eat. The next morning, we had the consultation with Dr. Cenk. He asked about my expectations, explained the operation carefully, and showed me the probable outcome/result in a comfortable atmosphere without any hard sell. I decided to proceed, and the operation was planned a couple of hours later. The hospital is modern and clean – each patient has a private room. The nurses came shortly after my arrival for the pre-op blood tests, etc. Although they spoke very little English, there were no communication problems, and I felt in good hands. Later in the afternoon, my carer, a lovely girl, stayed with me until I left the hospital, making lots of cups of tea! There was some pain immediately after the operation, but it was quickly dealt with in the hospital – I only took ONE painkiller during my stay in Izmir, and that was for a headache. The next day, Dr. Cenk arrived to change the bandages and check on me, after which I was allowed to leave and return to the villa. We had a lovely double room with a TV, sharing the bathroom (one on each floor of the villa). There were two follow-ups with Dr. Cenk before I left for home. I rated the clinic a 4 for quality of care and the hospital a 5+. Although the villa accommodation is perfect for recuperation, it is not a 5-star location, and the food is not gourmet. We were content with the fresh, nourishing meals provided. The housekeeper was always obliging. During our stay, we interacted with Turan and Haran mostly during the day on the way to appointments and sometimes over the phone. However, I believe that patient communication could be improved somewhat since the staff may be spread thin due to the high patient volume, thus a rating of 3. Now back at work, I am delighted with the result and experience and can truly recommend this clinic. Brilliant!
