I am a female living in the UK, more specifically in Northern Ireland. In my late thirties, I am in a same-sex partnership. Wanting a child before it was too late, I sought treatment with donor sperm. With my partner’s full support, I explored treatment costs both in the UK and abroad. Given the high prices locally, I turned to Bulgaria. Having previous experience in Sofia, I reached out to the Nadezhda clinic through Medspa, where Iva, a fluent English-speaking Bulgarian, promptly responded. Iva provided comprehensive information and addressed all our queries. Despite considering IVF due to my age, I opted for IUI treatment with hormone stimulation, given my overall health. Being able to choose a donor, I made my selection and planned around the treatment schedule, consisting of about 10 days, with fewer if unstimulated. Securing affordable flights with Ryanair and Easyjet, my partner and I flew from Dublin, facilitated by Iva who assisted in booking a nearby hotel. Upon arrival in Bulgaria, Julia, Iva’s colleague, welcomed us and ensured our comfortable stay. Attending the clinic daily, we were accompanied by friendly English-speaking staff – Iva, Julia, and Sissi, who jointly manage Medspa. Meeting Dr. Stamenov, the fertility specialist, I found him personable and proficient in English. While the clinic was clean and reputable, I rated it 4 out of 5 anticipating Dr. Stamenov’s relocation to a larger, more modern facility soon. After closely monitoring my progress, I underwent insemination on the 6th day. Two weeks later, back home, my test confirmed pregnancy from the first attempt. Dr. Stamenov’s exceptional skills, lauded by former patients, became evident to me. This journey to Bulgaria, filled with hope, blessed me with a baby and cherished friendships with Iva, Sissi, Julia, and of course, Dr. Stamenov, to whom I am immensely grateful. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience.
