Rethymno Medical Assistance in Crete has been awarded Temos certification

Every second traveler worldwide suffers from medical problems during the trip. More than 90% of these often rather less severe medical conditions can be treated in medical centers and primary care practices.

To optimize tourism medicine related services in primary care facilities Temos recently launched a new certification program for medical practices and primary care facilities.

In the frame of the "Quality in International Patients' Care" program Temos assesses primary care services through its new module focusing on the fact that primary care facilities play a significant role in the management of international patients' and tourists' healthcare needs by assuring accessibility to the services, early treatment and first aid provision, communication in an understood language, and reference to secondary or tertiary care services where needed to assure tourists' safety and treatment effectiveness.

As the first primary care center Rethymno Medical Assistance in Crete, Greece entered the Temos certified healthcare provider network assessed under the new program.

Organizational and operational structure of Rethymno Medical Assistance is based on many years of experience in treating international tourists/patients and in cooperating with the tourism sector and international travel insurances. Medical doctors and the administration staff of Rethymno Medical Assistance have transferred their expertise and experience to the patients' management procedures as well as to the treatment and reference system that they follow.
