According to Professor Jose Cohen, a stroke expert at Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital, patients visiting Israel will be greeted by excellent medical treatment at an attractive price.
The professor told the BBC: "This is a very small country with incredible and amazing medical facilities.
"The treatments that we can provide are much cheaper than the ones that you are going to receive in Europe."
Meanwhile Professor Shlomo Mor-Yosef, director-general of the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem, stressed that medical tourists should not be concerned by the nation's turbulent political history.
He told BBC News that any lingering tension is "far away, so for patients who need our support it is not a factor".
