Work has begun on a new hospital in Abu Dhabi that will cater for both locals and foreign patients seeking treatment abroad.
The Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) will boast beds for 360 patients when it opens in 2011 and will provide a range of specialised medical services.
It will be partnered with the existing Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, US, and is one of a number of initiatives designed to enhance the private healthcare infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Mark Erhart, executive director of Mubadala Healthcare, commented: "Partnering with one of the largest and most respected hospitals in the United States toa develop a world-class facility like CCAD creates a wonderful opportunity to further enhance healthcare in the UAE.
"CCAD is a vital part of our integrated healthcare network and we are absolutely committed to delivering the highest quality facilities and services to our patients," Mr Erhart added.
