A clinic in Bangkok, Thailand, has announced that it is to offer a new medical tourism procedure - cosmetic surgery designed to correct protruding or irregularly shaped ears.
The Bangkok Plastic Surgery Clinic has said that new technology has enabled it to provide the otoplasty procedure for the first time.
Taking two to five hours, the surgery reshapes or corrects the position of a patient's ears leaving just a faint scar behind the ear.
The procedure is most commonly performed on children aged four to 14-years-old, but can also be provided to adults risk-free.
Full consultation procedures and personal advice will be offered prior to any decision on surgery taking place, the Clinic has advised.
Surgery in nearby Asian areas such as Singapore can cost half as much as it does in Britain, with medical tourism now a £60 million industry.
