Dr McCauley has completed British Psychological Society (BPS) approved training as an expert witness and he is listed on the BPS Directory of Expert Witnesses.

As a mental health subject matter expert with the United States Air Force, he completed hundreds of assessments concerning occupational health functioning, with rulings on duty restrictions, such as working with specific weapons systems, ability to deploy on operations, etc.
