Living donor liver transplantation requires a big operation to remove a portion of a healthy person's liver and put it into a person who has a sick liver. Liver transplantation is an only treatment of choice during End Stage Liver Diseases (ESLD).
End Stage Liver Diseases represent one of the high priority issue for World Health Organisation due to its high rates of morbidity and mortality worldwide. According to of?cial statistics, mortality rates due to ESLD is about 2,500 deaths annually for USA. Subsequently, number of patients who need liver transplantation as a treatment increases progressively.
Main goal of liver transplantation is to increase life expectancy and quality of life of ESLD patients. Several internationally acknowledged standards need to be met as to be eligible for liver transplantation operation. Criteria are need to be assessed by team of quali?ed professionals.
Any patient suffering from liver cirrhosis who is assessed to have a life expectancy of less than a year should be considered for a transplant. Severity of liver diseases is graded from A to C. Usually all Grade C and most grade B patients are candidates for the transplant. Our Hospital Advantages:

Sulkhan Lominadze graduated from the faculty of medicine of Tbilisi State Medical Institute in 1996.
