Ferona team has been providing in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) and treatment for infertility for over 25 years and under the surveillance of Milenko Bujas PhD was responsible for the first baby born using IVF techniques in Serbia in 1990. Since then, Ferona team has carried out more than 10,000 cycles of IVF and has seen over 3,000 children born using the procedure.

Cryopreservation

Technological advances now mean that the survival rate of eggs that have been frozen using the vitrification method is 95% or more, compared to 20% a few years ago. The fact that 40% of children born as a result of IVF procedures began life as a frozen embryo also attests to the safety of the procedure and today cryopreservation is successfully used to freeze egg cells, sperm, embryos and, in particular circumstances, the tissue around the testicles and the ovaries .
