In line with many European countries and Australia where there are legal requirements to restrict the number of embryos transferred, the Clinic prefers to transfer no more than 2 embryos for women under the age of 39, transferring 3 only in specially selected cases in women over the age of 39.

Gender Selection and PGD

For couples who have a preference to conceive either a baby boy or a baby girl, Dünya IVF Clinic offers the option of Gender Selection by means of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD).

As well as determining the sex of the embryo, PGD also has the advantage that it can be used to screen for a range of genetic disorders, such as Down’s syndrome, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, sickle cell anaemia and haemophilia, among others, so that only the healthiest embryos of the desired baby gender are transferred.
