Cosmetic surgery in Slovakia : Doctor accreditation and qualifications

To register with the Slovak Medical Chamber, plastic surgeons must undergo a basic medical degree, followed by at least five years of general surgical training, followed by a further two years training in plastic surgery.

Slovak cosmetic surgeons are obliged to join a professional body, such as the Slovak Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery (SSPES) or the Slovak Society of Hand Surgery. This in turn gives them membership of the international association the International Confederation of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS).

Plastic Surgeons may also be registered with the Slovak Medical Council, the Slovak Medical Association and the Slovak Association of General Surgery.
