Overmedical was co-founded by Dr Özden Avci, a highly experienced practitioner with over 25 years in practice as a medical doctor and 15 years as a general surgery specialist, to provide health tourism services based on the principles of trust and reliability. All procedures facilitated by Overmedical are carried out by members of its staff of expert physicians in hospitals equipped with the very latest medical technology.

Dr. Onur Egemen – Aesthetic surgeon
Associate Professor Onur Egemen, MD, FEBOPRAS, graduated from Istanbul University Medical Faculty in 1999 and completed his training with Fellowships in microsurgery (Istanbul) and breast surgery (Brussels). Currently Chief of the Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department at Istanbul Istinye University, he has had more than 50 papers published in the international literature and is a regular speaker at international congresses. Dr Egemen also runs a private aesthetic surgery clinic in Istanbul. His areas of expertise include body contouring, breast surgery, facial aesthetic surgery, hair replacement and post bariatric surgery.
Berkay Tulpar – Hair transplant specialist
A graduate of Istanbul Bilim University, Berkey Tulpar is internationally renowned for his expertise in hair, eyebrow and beard transplantation surgery. Always staying fully abreast of the latest developments and technologies in hair care, he provides a wide range of treatments for hair loss including growth factor, sedoanalgesia and a technique that can implant 8-10 thousand grafts in a single session.
Dr Hakan Ye?ilkaya – Dentist
Dr Hakan Ye?ilkaya graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry, in 2000. Following a two year period as an army dentist, he took up a position at Di?kent Oral and Dental Health Clinic in Istanbul, where he is now head dentist. Dr Ye?ilkaya has attended over 100 courses, congresses and seminars and is highly experienced in all aspects of aesthetic dentistry, including implantology.
Prof. Dr Fatih Tunca – Endocrine surgeon
A Fellowship-trained general surgeon, Dr Fatih Tunca is Professor of Surgery at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He is a member of a number of international professional bodies including the Endocrine Surgery Society, the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons, the Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery Society and the Transplantation Society. Actively involved in research, he is a regular contributor to the international literature.
Prof. Dr Hakan Yanar – Colorectal surgeon
Dr Hakan Yanar graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1994. Following a surgery internship in Denver, USA and general surgery training in Istanbul, he completed a one-year Fellowship in general surgery at University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, USA before returning to the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine where he is a Professor of Surgery and faculty member. Dr Yanar has a special interest and expertise surgical oncology, colorectal cancer, gastrointestinal endoscopy, advanced laparoscopic surgery and acute surgical conditions such as acute pancreatitis and cholecystitis. He is certified to carry out robotic surgery and is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery – Emergency Surgery (FEBS EmSurg).
Dr Özden Avci – General surgery specialist
Dr Özden Avci completed his medical degree at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine in 1993, going on to graduate from Yedikule Thoracic Surgery in 1998 and in general surgery at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. He is a member of a number of national and international professional associations including the Turkish Obesity Surgery Society (TOSS), the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Association (BMCD), the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) and the Turkish Surgical Association. Dr Avci has worked at the private Pendik ?ifa Hospital in Istanbul since 2006 and is the co-founder of Overmedical.
Prof. Dr Hasan Karanlik – General surgery specialist
Dr Hasan Karanlik is a surgical oncologist specialising in the treatment of breast cancer. He has a special interest and expertise in breast conservation, oncoplastic breast surgery and treatment modalities of breast cancer with a multidisciplinary approach. Dr Karanlik graduated in medicine and completed his general surgery training at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. He then completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology and a master’s degree in cancer epidemiology and biostatistics at the Istanbul University Institute of Oncology. He is an active member of the Turkish Surgical Society, the Breast Society of Istanbul and the Society of Surgical Oncology and is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS). Dr Karanlik has visited many leading cancer institutions worldwide and is the author of more than 70 articles and over 200 presented abstracts.

Getting treatment in Istanbul, Turkey
