Intersono IVF clinic exhibits at Kinderwunschtage, Germany’s leading fertility fair

Ukrainian fertility clinic, Intersono IVF clinic was delighted to take part in Kinderwunschtage, which took place on 18-19 February 2017 in Berlin, Germany.

Kinderwunschtage is the original and largest fertility fair in Germany, offering infertile couples a place to find information on how to start a family and an opportunity to seek advice and trusted opinion from leading fertility experts.

The response was amazing, with more than 1000 visitors in general, and 400 couples looking for IVF, legal egg donation and surrogacy options, visiting the Intersono IVF clinic stand. Egg donation and surrogacy in Ukraine are of particular interest to German couples as these procedures are not legal under German legislation.

In contrast, order no. 787 of the Ukrainian Ministry of Healthcare states that:

  • Gamete and embryo donation, surrogacy and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) are allowed in Ukraine
  • Egg or sperm donor selection is available to international patients in certain circumstances
  • Only married couples can be offered surrogacy
  • Couples wishing to use artificial reproductive technology (ART) should have a medical need
  • There are no limits on number of attempts

Over the course of the two days, the clinic offered free fertility specialist consultation and surrogacy lawyer support. Dr Uliana Dorofeyeva and Anastasiya Herman personally advised all couples who sought their help, providing answers on fertility treatments, the most suitable time to start treatment, what tests are necessary, how to choose the right egg or sperm donor and programme details for egg donation and surrogacy.

Visitors to Kinderwunschtage also had a unique opportunity to attend a choice of 50 expert seminars, involving 30 speakers across four seminar rooms. Intersono specialists held two seminars: “Advantages of IVF treatment in Ukraine for German patients” and “How to determine a proper IVF treatment?” in which Intersono Medical Director Dr Uliana Dorofeyeva and lawyer Anastasiya Herman informed German couples about the legal aspects of egg donation and surrogacy in Ukraine.

Dr Dorofeyeva summarised:

“Before travelling to Ukraine for egg donation and surrogacy, German citizens have a lot of questions and doubts. They need to be sure about clinic success rates, embryology laboratory certificates and quality control system availability. Our aim is to show that Intersono IVF clinic corresponds to International Quality Standards and complies with EU-Tissue Directive 2004/23/CE, 2006/17/EC. For the Intersono international team it’s very important that we take part in fertility fairs so that we can get closer to our patients, understand their needs and improve our treatment services.”
