I feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with a doctor who values people

Review of Dr Alpaslan Caliskan: Pelvic Floor Surgery by Anon. Treatment date: over 12 months

Hello, Last year, I felt a mass coming from my vagina, which made me very anxious. After researching online, I found information suggesting that it could be uterine prolapse, so I went to see a gynecologist. The doctor confirmed that my uterus was prolapsed but said it wasn’t too advanced. She mentioned that I could try exercises and other methods to improve my quality of life. She also stated that the most definitive solution would be to remove the uterus, but she added that I was still young, and my uterus was healthy. This left me with doubts. A few months later, during our summer holiday, the prolapse seemed to worsen. I searched “Uterine Prolapse” online and began reading the information that came up. Several doctor names appeared, and I patiently and carefully read the reviews and comments. Dr. Alpaslan Çalışkan was one of those doctors. What made sense to me was the method he used and, most importantly, his emphasis on preserving the uterus during surgery. He explained everything thoroughly. Reading the comments from many patients who had undergone traditional surgeries, had their uteruses removed, and still experienced recurring issues like bladder or bowel prolapse reminded me of what my previous doctor had said: “Removing the uterus is not the solution.” Taking away a healthy organ, only to later face other issues, seemed like an unnecessary sacrifice. Of course, if the organ were diseased, it would be different. These patients later contacted Dr. Alpaslan and realized that their uteruses could have been preserved. Some of them had to correct problems after their uterus was removed, while others contacted Dr. Alpaslan and underwent surgery without removing the uterus. This was exactly what I was looking for. I contacted him and was comforted by his calm and reassuring voice, which allowed me to express myself more easily. We established good communication, which is the first step to treatment. He diagnosed the severity of my condition by asking me several questions. I had surgery at the private Odak Hospital on July 28, 2022. The postoperative period was tough for me. I was bedridden for about a month, and when I finally got up, I felt intense pressure in my hip bones. My doctor told me that it would take three months to fully recover, and I am just ten days away from completing that period. Since September, I have been back at work, and I still have some mild discomfort, but I know I’ll improve. There’s no longer anything coming from my vagina, which is a huge relief. In short, I feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with a doctor who values people, is humble, and excels in his work. I also appreciate the hospital staff. Warm regards from Kütahya.
