I just want to state what a first-class clinic this is and much cheaper than UK clinics. The radiologist was a very nice guy, as were all the staff, and he spoke perfect English. The language barrier was not a problem at all as I can’t speak German. The clinic was spotless, as you would expect from German standards, and the area was beautiful with the Black Forest in the background. In spring and summer, it must be stunning. The locals were all very friendly and polite, which makes the trip more enjoyable. Back to the clinic, I had an MRI scan of the lower back and right knee, which was much cheaper than the quotes in the UK. The scanner was Siemens, a very modern machine, and there was no discomfort whatsoever, very high quality in every way. After the scan, approximately 30 minutes, the radiologist is verbally telling you the results of the scan, and a CD is given to you. Then, an email within a couple of days with a report you can print out, but the CD you take away with you. Unlike the UK, there’s no waiting for surgeons’ letters to have approval for the scan; you just pay the money and have the scan. Cheap flights are flying to Frankfurt main, and from there, you can catch a bus to Karlsruhe, and the clinic is a tram ride away. The clinic would explain this anyway. I honestly believe I would be no further forward if I had not gone to Germany, still going round in circles with the national health system, which I was doing for years. The scan pinpointed the cause of my pain and a diagnosis, something UK doctors couldn’t do. I was walking around with a torn cartilage and told in the UK to run, and it would get better—laughable considering I could hardly walk. I also had an X-ray in the UK, which showed nothing. For price and quality, I would urge anyone to choose this clinic. Please note, I have no connection to this clinic or am employed by the clinic; this is purely an independent review.
