Paraffin poultices

What is it?

Poultices are used to heal bruises and sores, soothe abrasions and release toxins and can be applied hot or cold.

How does it work?

Cold poultices are used to withdraw heat from an inflamed or congested area while hot poultices help relax spasms and pain. The paraffin poultice is a thermal treatment using paraffin heated to 40-50 degrees Celsius to increase blood supply to the area being treated.

What does it treat?

Paraffin creates a mini sauna, trapping heat to a particular area. The paraffin poultice increases local blood circulation and eliminates toxins. This is a good treatment for sciatica, back disorders, rheumatism and sports injury.
