Greece IVF is run by IVF Treatment Abroad and recommends a small number of specially
selected clinics on the Greek mainland, two in Thessaloniki in Northern Greece
and one in the capital, Athens.
Unlike a standard “Agency” which will just
tell you where you should go, they ascertain your needs and requirements,
suggesting drug regimes as well as potential tests needing to be carried out and
where to get these done. They will provide a fertility treatment plan explaining what to
do, when to do it and how to do it, arrange prescriptions for medications and
will generally be available 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide advice
and support.
All types of IVF treatments are available and
are tailored to your own individual requirements by IVF Treatment Abroad and
the welcoming staff at the centres. The Selected clinics are of the smaller
variety but have success rates as good as the larger centres around the world.
They have English speaking personnel, purpose built facilities with cutting
edge technology and up to the minute techniques.
There are no waiting lists and if you are
looking to have egg donation, donors will have proven fertility i.e. they will either
have children of their own or will have donated before which resulted in a
positive pregnancy test for the recipient. This is also one donor to one
recipient donation and donors are aged between 18 and 30 years old. Screening
protocols are the same as in the UK not just from a medical perspective, but
also from a psychological one.
Who
are IVF Treatment Abroad
Ruth Pellow has been a Fertility Nurse
Specialist since 1992 and is responsible for planning, co-ordinating and
supporting you throughout your treatment cycle at one of the selected clinics.
Although she is self employed, she is considered one of the team members of all
the collaborating clinics and is in constant contact throughout the cycle with
you the patient and the medical professionals at the selected centre.
Ruth along with her co-director and husband
Simon, have personally visited all the centres to make sure that they meet their
own high standards towards patient treatment, care and support.
Ruth
has worked in Harley Street, London, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and was
based at a clinic on the Costa del Sol, Spain for nearly 5 years. It was this
experience of working in a Spanish clinic that made Ruth and Simon decide that
patients should have a wider choice of where they could go for treatment while
at the same time having a UK trained fertility specialist guiding you through
the process every step of the way.
