Mrs H from London travelled to Norway for an MRI scan which cost £350 including her return flight (with Ryanair) and one night’s accommodation in a three star hotel. She paid an extra £100 for an additional dye contrast injection. The clinic also gave her a free ultra sound scan, worth an additional £100, as an added incentive. In the UK she had been given quotes ranging from £500 to £900. She said: “I wanted a second opinion after being seen on the NHS so I decided to look into having an MRI scan done privately. I searched for cheap MRI scans on the internet and found some good deals in America but the price of the flight would have made it very expensive. Then I found some information about Norway.
