Prices for diagnostic imaging in Europe are highly competitive. For example, a private MRI scan can cost upwards of £750 in the UK whereas in Norway a simple MRI scan + trip starts at £300. So travelling by low cost airline to a diagnostic imaging clinic in Europe is a realistic option, if you are faced with a sizeable bill for such a scan in the UK.
