Slovenian doctor accreditation (orthopaedic surgeons)
All qualified doctors in Slovenia hold a “diploma s katero se podelijue strokovni naslov ‘doktor medicine/doktorica medicine’", which is a diploma that signifies they are a Doctor of Medicine. This degree is awarded by several medical universities within Slovenia, which offer qualifications in medicine that meet the European Medical Directive 2005/36/EC.
Specialists in orthopaedic surgery hold a “potrdilo o opravljenem specialisticnem izpitu”, a certificate shows that they have completed a specialist examination successfully. The specialist diploma is granted by the Ministry of Health or the Medical Chamber in Slovenia.
Orthopaedic surgeons have a minimum training period of 5 years and hold the “ortopedska kirurgija” diploma.
Slovenian dentist accreditation
Dentists who are able to practice in Slovenia and offer private dental care to medical tourists hold a “diploma, s katero se podeljuje strokovni naslov ‘doktor dentalne medicine’”. This means that they have a diploma that awards them the professional title of dentist.
Dentists may also hold an additional certificate; the “potrdilo o opravljenem strokovnem izpitu za poklic ‘zobozdravnik / zobozdravnica’”, which confirms that they have passed the Slovenian state examination to allow them to practice as a professional dentist.
