Dentures in Croatia

Tammy Williams, the wife of Tony Williams who is the former bass player with Super Group, Jethro Tull and a founder member of Stealers Wheel, had major problems with her teeth. Most of the front teeth had fallen out and the front gums were badly receded. Although Tammy had tried a couple of semi dentures to fill some of the obvious gaps it soon became apparent that a very sensitive ‘gagging’ condition would prevent her from ever having the usual type of false teeth that family dentists fit.

When Tammy and Tony investigated implants and all-in-one procedures in the United States prices were varied. In New York they were quoted $20,000 - $35,000 which was too high so they began to look closer to home. Their UK dentist said that a specialist would charge around £1,500 per tooth but there would be a six month wait after each extraction before fitting an implant as well as a further wait to fit the false tooth. The overall quote for the complete job was around £11,000 - £25,000. Then they discovered Dr Popadic’s website and everything fitted perfectly with what Tammy wanted, especially the price, and the assurance that all the dental work could be done in just a few days.

Despite their trepidation about travelling to a country they knew to trust a stranger with a very complex procedure they made the trip to Rovinj. They flew from Manchester to Venice and took a ferry to Rovinj, staying at the Park Hotel, which was recommended by Dr Popadic and just a short walk from the surgery.

Said Tony: “Dr Popadic’s surgery had modern state of the art equipment and was spotlessly clean, much better that many in the UK. The staff were extremely friendly and my wife and I were both impressed at their efficiency and professionalism. Dr Popadic was a charming young man with a very reassuring manner who spoke perfect English and understood all the anxiety and concerns my wife had about her forthcoming treatment. The first part of the procedure was impressions and aesthetic then it was straight onto the extractions and implants. The doctor had recommended six implants which was actually two more that the UK dentist had suggested and would offer my wife a much improved end result. By lunchtime my wife’s teeth had all been removed and six implants were firmly in place. Amazingly my wife had suffered no pain whatsoever.

When it was time for the first fitting of her new teeth it was decided that they might be a little prominent so Doctor Popadic summoned the technician who agreed they needed altering back at the workshop. The next morning we reported back to the surgery for the final fitting. Just a couple more adjustments and my wife had a perfect new smile and she was absolutely delighted. The same afternoon we were back on the ferry on our way to Venice catching the evening plane. The whole process had taken just three days as originally promised by Dr. Popadic. The final cost including, travel, accommodation and of course the fantastic treatment was less than half we would have paid for the cheapest option in the UK.

My wife now has a beautiful smile, bags more confidence and is absolutely delighted with the end result. It took her very little time to get used to her new dentures and just a few months after her treatment she now says they feel completely natural. The initial set of teeth are made from acrylic and not meant to last forever. In a few months after the original set have fully settled we will need to return to see Dr Popadic to have a stronger more permanent set fitted. This takes a few days and we intend to enjoy another short holiday there. The choice of final dentures start at around €1,800 however there are deluxe Hollywood, ‘individual teeth’ versions for a few hundred more. The final cost of my wife’s dental work will be approximately €9,000 (around £6,500) and we saved around £15,000 on UK prices”.
