Dr Costas Papaioannou studied in the Medical School of A.U.Th. (Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki) which he graduated from in November of 1976. Following his military service, where he served as a soldier doctor, he began practising in the Orthopaedic Clinic of Drama’s General Hospital. Following this he completed two years of general surgery in the General Hospital of the city of Kavala and was trained in the basic department of Plastic Surgery in the city of Sheffield, England and the Hospital of Queen Victoria in East Grinstead.
Dr Papaioannou completed his education, practising otorhinolaryngology for six months at the Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.
Dr Papaioannou was given the title of Special Plastic Surgeon in November 1985 when he started his private practice and was a surgeon at the Saint Lukas clinic of Thessaloniki. In 1987 he was given the title of lecturer in the Medical School of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki.
Dr Papaioannou has attended a slew of seminars in various parts of the world and has presented, as a speaker, various original studies.
He has made 7 trips to the United States in order to observe various known surgeons at work and take part in highly specialised workshops involving the practical application of new surgical techniques. Since October of 2000, Dr Papaioannou performs surgical operations at The Medical Inter-Balkan Centre of Thessaloniki.
