Dr Caroline Dore Geraghty, Allergy specialist in Dublin, holds a Masters degree in Allergy from Imperial College London. She received an academic scholarship to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland graduating in 2002. She then completed her general professional training in internal medicine in Beaumont Hospital and Connolly hospital.
She has rotated through numerous specialities and has a special interest in allergy diagnosis and treatment, dermatology and medical skincare.
Types of allergy testing at WinterPark Clinic, Dublin
There are two types of allergy tests that are performed at the Winter Park Clinic:
After the consultation the skin prick allergy test will be performed on an area of your body (commonly on your forearm, but the back can also be used). Dr Caroline will then go through the results with you, and give you appropriate advice on allergen avoidance and commence treatment where necessary.
Patch testing will require 3 visits to the WinterPark Clinic, on 3 separate occasions (usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday). After the consultation on Monday, Dr Dore Geraghty will apply patches on the back, and then on the second visit the patches will be removed and the skin will be examined. Then on the third consultation the skin is examined for any changes such as usually redness, blistering, ooze.
